Test how fast you can click — measure your clicks per second (CPS) score.
A click speed test is a free online tool that measures how many times you can click your mouse button in a set time period. The result is expressed as CPS (clicks per second) — a metric widely used in gaming, accessibility testing and repetitive strain injury (RSI) monitoring.
Minecraft PvP, MMO combat and many other games reward high click speed. Practice to improve your in-game attack rate.
Test mouse hardware click response and identify if a mouse button is sticking or misfiring.
Physiotherapists use click speed tests to measure hand and finger dexterity recovery after injury or surgery.
Compete against friends and see who can achieve the highest CPS in a set time period.
4–7 CPS: average. 7–10 CPS: above average. 10–14 CPS: excellent. 14+ CPS: very fast. World records exceed 20+ CPS using special clicking techniques.
Jitter clicking involves tensing the arm muscles to make the hand vibrate rapidly, achieving high CPS. It can cause repetitive strain injury and is not recommended for regular use.
Optical mice with low debounce time (the delay between registered clicks) are fastest. Gaming mice are optimised for rapid clicking and typically have 1–2ms debounce vs 10–50ms on standard mice.
In older versions (1.8), higher CPS gave more hits per second in combat. In newer versions, attacks deal full damage only after a cooldown, making CPS less critical than timing.
